Effective Date: September 17, 2026 · Last Updated: September 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of Website Terms
These Website Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at https://thelookdepartment.in ("Website"), operated by The Look Department ("TLD", "we", "us", or "our").
By accessing, browsing, or utilizing this Website—including reviewing creative disciplines, viewing portfolio works, or submitting a project brief through our interactive Project Desk—you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue your use of this Website immediately.
Website Scope Only: These Terms apply exclusively to your access to and use of this Website. Commercial creative production engagements, photographic campaigns, e-commerce suites, asset licensing, and creative direction services provided by TLD are governed solely by separate written commercial contracts executed directly between TLD and the commissioning client.
2. Studio Identity & Commercial Scope
The Look Department (TLD) is an independent commercial fashion creative production studio based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, collaborating with fashion brands, apparel designers, and creative directors globally.
This Website and our services are intended for commercial, business-to-business (B2B) professional engagement. They are not intended for individuals under eighteen (18) years of age.
3. Permitted Website Use & Prohibited Conduct
You may access and use this Website solely for legitimate business purposes: to learn about our studio, evaluate creative capabilities, review portfolio works, and submit bona fide commercial project inquiries.
When using this Website, you agree not to:
- Automated Extraction: Use any spider, scraper, crawler, automated process, or data-gathering tool to systematically harvest text, imagery, video, metadata, or source code without our express prior written permission.
- Spam & Fraudulent Inquiries: Submit false, misleading, abusive, defamatory, or automated bot submissions through our Project Desk.
- Reverse Engineering: Decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, proprietary algorithms, or custom 3D graphics shaders utilized across this Website, except to the extent permitted by mandatory applicable law.
- Infrastructure Interference: Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise server security, bypass rate-limiting controls, tamper with anti-spam verification mechanisms, or introduce malicious payloads.
- Unauthorized Framing: Frame, mirror, or co-brand this Website or any part thereof on any third-party platform without our prior written authorization.
4. Intellectual Property & Third-Party Rights
The Look Department (or its licensors) owns or retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the original content and materials created by or for TLD that are incorporated into this Website. This includes our:
- Original website text, editorial copywriting, and studio descriptions.
- Brand identity, studio name, logo marks, and monograms.
- Original layout designs, visual presentation, and creative direction.
- Original photography, campaign assets, and creative works where TLD holds the relevant proprietary or copyright rights.
- Proprietary software code, custom components, and custom interactive WebGL/Three.js visual experiences developed specifically for this Website.
Third-Party Materials & Open Source: This Website incorporates third-party and open-source software libraries, frameworks, web fonts, and cloud infrastructure components. All such third-party software, fonts, trademarks, service marks, and trade names remain the property of their respective owners and are utilized subject to their applicable licenses. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in TLD's proprietary assets or any third-party intellectual property.
5. Portfolio Works, Third-Party Assets & AI Restrictions
The lookbook imagery, campaign photography, color-graded stills, editorial excerpts, and video previews displayed on this Website represent professional creative works produced by or in collaboration with The Look Department.
- Client Trademarks & Talent Rights: Brand names, logos, garment designs, client trademarks, and model likenesses depicted within portfolio case studies belong to their respective commercial rights holders and talent agencies. They are presented on this Website strictly for nominative portfolio, archival, and demonstration purposes. TLD does not claim ownership over client trademarks, garments, or model personality rights.
- No Unauthorized Reproduction: You are not granted any right or license to download, screenshot for commercial exploitation, republish, syndicate, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from any portfolio materials without prior explicit written authorization from TLD and the respective rights holders.
- AI / ML Model Training Restrictions: Unauthorized scraping, copying, harvesting, ingestion, or utilization of TLD-owned website materials, original imagery, or text for training artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), or generative models is strictly prohibited. Third-party materials displayed remain subject to their respective rights holders' terms and licenses.
6. Project Desk Inquiries & Submitted Content
When you initiate an inquiry through our Project Desk at /contact, you represent and warrant that:
- All contact information, brand references, and project specifications you provide are accurate and authentic.
- You possess the full legal right and authority to submit the inquiry on behalf of the brand or business entity referenced.
- Any reference links, moodboards, or creative specifications you share do not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or contractual confidentiality rights.
Inquiries Are Non-Binding: Submitting a brief through this Website does not establish an agency relationship, retainership, or binding production contract. It does not obligate TLD to prepare a formal quote, accept a project, or reserve studio production dates. Production engagements are confirmed only upon mutual execution of a formal commercial contract.
7. Confidentiality Expectations & Pre-Release Embargoes
We understand that commercial fashion production frequently involves unreleased collections and sensitive seasonal concepts. TLD treats all project briefs received through the Project Desk with professional discretion and care, as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
No Automatic NDA: Please note that neither these Website Terms nor the submission of an inquiry through the Project Desk creates a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) or a binding contractual confidentiality obligation. Prospective clients requiring legally enforceable confidentiality, strict pre-release embargo protection, or formal non-disclosure covenants before sharing highly sensitive materials (such as unreleased silhouettes, proprietary tech packs, or confidential launch strategies) should request and execute an appropriate written NDA or commercial agreement with TLD prior to submitting such materials.
TLD independently develops aesthetic concepts, visual treatments, and creative directions for diverse clients across the fashion industry. Submitting an inquiry brief does not restrict TLD from independently developing similar creative concepts or working with other brands in the same apparel or commercial sector.
8. Commercial Client Contracts (MSA / SOW Boundary)
When a brand engages The Look Department for commercial creative production, the engagement is governed exclusively by a separate, bilateral Master Services Agreement (MSA), Statement of Work (SOW), or other written commercial agreement executed between TLD and the commissioning client.
All project-specific commercial terms—including pricing, payment schedules, deliverable specifications, shot lists, revision allowances, approval processes, talent and location releases, commercial licensing grants (duration, media, and territory), cancellation, weather contingencies, intellectual property transfers, and liability limits—are governed solely by that executed agreement.
These Website Terms govern only your use of this Website. In the event of any conflict between these Website Terms and an executed commercial client contract, the terms of the executed commercial contract shall prevail.
9. Third-Party Websites & Services
This Website may provide links to our official social media channels on external platforms (specifically Instagram @thelookdepartment and LinkedIn).
These external platforms and any other third-party websites are operated independently. TLD does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, terms, or operational practices of any third-party websites or services. Accessing third-party platforms is done entirely at your own risk.
10. Website Availability, Accuracy & "As-Is" Status
This Website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, statutory, or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of this Website at any time without notice. The presentation of past creative works or service disciplines does not guarantee studio calendar availability for any specific production window.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall The Look Department (TLD), its founders, directors, employees, contractors, or creative collaborators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, goodwill, or commercial disruption, arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of, or inability to use this Website, or your reliance on any Website content.
The limitations in this Section apply strictly to matters arising from the access to or use of this Website. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Look Department, its founders, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your violation of any provision of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property, privacy, or proprietary rights, through materials or briefs you submit through the Website.
- Any intentional misuse, unlawful conduct, or attempt to compromise this Website or its server infrastructure.
13. No Professional, Legal, or Financial Advice
The materials, creative workflows, service breakdowns, and studio commentary published on this Website are provided solely for general promotional, portfolio, and informational purposes.
Nothing on this Website constitutes legal, trademark clearance, tax, or regulatory advice. Commissioning brands are solely responsible for obtaining independent professional advice regarding their own trademark registrations, garment labeling, advertising standards, and consumer regulatory compliance in their respective target markets.
14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to your use of this Website shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
You agree that the competent courts located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any legal proceeding, claim, or dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or this Website.
